David Boyd

Australian Artist

David Boyd (1924-2011) was born in Melbourne. He was interested in a variety of art forms from his early childhood, including painting, drawing and pottery – thanks to his father Merric’s fruitful career as a talented potter. He was the younger brother of Australian painter Arthur Boyd. It was not until the late 1950s that David Boyd actively pursued an artistic career as a painter. His work appears in the collections of most Australian State Galleries, the Australian War Memorial, major universities in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria and major public and private collections in Britain, Japan and the USA.
