Bruce Earles was born in 1953 in Melbourne. Since 1983, Earles had exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally in New York, Washington, Seattle, Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai. He was widely acknowledged as having made a significant contribution to the contemporary Australian art movement. He passed away in 2023.
