Peter Browne was born in West Wyalong, New South Wales in 1947. Widely known as Australia’s Brushman from the scrub, Peter commenced full time painting over 50 years ago. His style centres around Australian wildlife and folklore humour. Peter is well known locally and internationally. Described in The Bulletin as ‘probably the nation’s most all Australian artist’, Peter has held many successful exhibitions, both solo and in conjunction with other fellow brushmen from the scrub including prominent artists Pro Hart and Jack Absalom. He has had several exhibitions in the United States and Europe. Peter is a True Blue Aussie and his artwork is Australiana at its best!
