Janet Golder Kngwarreye

Aboriginal Artist

Janet Golder Kngwarreye was born in 1973 in Mulga Bore, Utopia. She is an Anmatyerre artist and comes from a family of painters, including her grandmothers Polly Ngale and Angelina Pwerle and sister Belinda Golder. Janet is married to Ronnie Bird, son of famous artist Ada Bird Petyarre. Janet begun painting in 1987 and paints the stories passed down from her female influences including Awelye (Ceremonial Body Paint) and My Country illustrating the Utopian Landscapes. Janet is a sought-after artist, her paintings include terrific colours and elements. Her work has been displayed in galleries in Australia and overseas.
